In the spring, OCS students participate in the Art Show. Along with a class project, each child is required to enter a piece of art work they have created at home! There are many different mediums that can be used; this is a great time to try new things!
General Information/ Project Requirements:
1. All artwork must be an original created by the students.
a. No prepackaged models, kits, etc.
b. No stencils, sponge shapes, stickers permitted
c. Work must be original compositions and not copied from published or copyrighted material
2. Come up with a fun title and don’t forget to put your name and grade on it! A short form will be coming home later for the child to describe what they did and have their information on it.
3. Three dimensional work must sit on a paper mat with title and name.
4. Any medium and any size artwork will be accepted.
Painting: acrylics, airbrush, finger paints, oil, tempera, watercolor
Drawing: Black/White or Color
Black/White: chalk, charcoal, ink, pencil, pigma/technical pen, scratchboard
Color: colored pencil, colored ink, crayon, felt markers, pastels
Printmaking: etchings, engravings, intaglio, rubbings, silk screen, sponge, stamping, stenciling
Graphic Design/Calligraphy: abstract patterns/designs, architectural designs, hand lettering
Sculpture/Pottery: 3 dimensional shaped by students- ceramic with handmade mold, clay, metal, papier-mache, plaster, soap, stone, wood
Photography: Black/White or Color (5x7 or 8x10 mounted on card stock)
Fabric Art: cloth mosaic/collage, embroidery, fabric painting, quilting
Fiber Art: knitting, crochet, weaving, felting, braiding, macrame, lace making, rug/latch hook, stitchery, string art, fiber sculpture
Paper Art: cast paper, diorama, origami, paper mosaic/collage, paper projects, art journaling
Miscellaneous Art: basketry, flower arranging, jewelry, leather, metal, wood
